OMEN extends partnership with H20 Esports Campus

OMEN and H20 Esports Campus join forces again with an extension of the current cooperation. OMEN has been a crucial partner of H20 Esports Campus since its inception. Our partner provides the necessary hardware with which we can create a real game and esports experience for visitors of the OMEN Gaming Club.

OMEN provides the gaming gear that can be found in the OMEN Gaming Club. This is where avid gamers come together to game, train and most importantly, have fun. Here they play the games League of Legends, Rocket League and Roblox, among others. Besides gaming with friends or family, you can also choose to book a workshop or coaching session. In these sessions, the details and important skills that you need to make it further in the world of esports are discussed. The right equipment is of great importance here!

OMEN livestream every month

Since May this year, we also have the H20 Streaming Studio, located on the H20 Esports Campus. Every month a livestream can be admired here in which OMEN plays the leading part. In this OMEN livestream several well-known streamers play a number of games and interaction with the viewers is really important. The livestream uses OMEN gaming gear and viewers can request information about the gear our streamers are using.
Sue Sue Au, Marketing Manager at OMEN said, "We are very excited about the partnership with H20, which is why we have decided to extend it with them. H20 is the largest eSports and Gaming stadium in the Netherlands, where gaming, education and tech come together. A true Gamers Hub, where OMEN fits in perfectly. We are looking forward to going full steam ahead; from broadcasting the biggest gaming finals, to the coolest events, the OMEN Gaming Club and meet ups with athletes and influencers!"
Matthijs Vink, co-founder H20 Esports Campus: "We are very pleased that the partnership with OMEN is extended. OMEN has believed in H20 since the beginning. H20 can finally welcome our gaming audience again in the OMEN Gaming Club or online via the OMEN livestreams on the H20-Twitch channel. We believe that with partners we can grow together and with OMEN we can give gamers a unique experience on location. We have many plans that can be realised through the extended partnership, so keep a close eye on us!"

Enjoy CoffeeClick at the H20 Esports Campus!

H20 cooperates with CoffeeClick to provide our tenants and employees with delicious coffee at work. CoffeeClick takes care of the whole process, from the version of coffee beans to up to date service.

The H20 Esports Campus Amsterdam is not only a place where esports talents are trained, but the campus also houses numerous companies active in the creative tech industry. H20 was therefore faced with the challenge of supplying a business centre, game hall and catering establishment with coffee. We ended up with the business coffee supplier CoffeeClick, who transformed our wishes and requirements into a successful partnership.

The H20 Challenge

CoffeeClick's customer case on H20 talks about the so-called 'H20 Challenge'. The campus is used for various purposes and had to provide delicious fresh bean coffee at various points. It was also important that when an event takes place on campus, H20 should have the possibility to scale up with (temporary) additional equipment.

Before, we did not have coffee machines and we made coffee the old-fashioned way with pre-ground coffee and a percolator. H20 is a large organization with different departments, so we were looking for a trouble-free alternative that would save us time and effort in making coffee. After many positive reactions we contacted CoffeeClick. CoffeeClick now arranges everything for us", says Matthijs Vink of H20 Esports Campus Amsterdam.
We may again receive esports players and other interested parties from all over the country, so are you in the mood for delicious fresh bean coffee at a fat location? Then come by H20 Esports Campus and enjoy CoffeeClick's coffee!

CoffeeClick provides professional coffee machines for businesses and links this coffee machine with payment system.

Pathé and H20 join forces to invest heavily in gaming and esports with Go!Gaming

AMSTERDAM, 8 July 2021 - Pathé and H20 Esports Campus Amsterdam are joining forces to bring a completely new gaming concept to cinemas this autumn: Go!Gaming. Go!Gaming are game locations at Pathé where gamers, esports enthusiasts and Pathé visitors can play together using the best and latest game consoles and PCs. The first Go!Gaming location will open in the autumn at a Pathé branch that has yet to be announced.

Go!Gaming brings gamers, esports enthusiasts and Pathé visitors together to discover the fun and excitement of gaming. Experience, relaxation, gaming together and self-development are central to this. The concept will be launched this autumn, when the first location will also be announced.

Pathé and gaming

Bram van den Broek, Director Operations Pathé, and Matthijs Vink, co-founder of H20 Esports Campus, are the directors of Go!Gaming. Van den Broek: "Go!Gaming is the perfect addition to the cinemas of Pathé. It is important for Pathé to remain relevant for new generations and therefore we continue to innovate. The popularity of gaming and esports has been growing for years. In the past year, we have also noticed that people need entertainment more than ever before, but at the same time they also need interaction and social contact.

We have often organised successful small-scale gaming and esports events in our cinemas and since this summer we have launched Pathé Play, where visitors can play games on the big screen using their own console. By adding Go!Gaming to our cinemas, we can serve our younger target groups and gamers even better. With H20 Esports Campus we have found a partner who strives for the same top quality and customer experience and who has years of experience in building a professional Esports Tech Campus and Esports Stadium. Go!Gaming will make our cinemas even more the place to enjoy an evening or day out with friends and family."

H20 Esports Campus

H20 Esports Campus is the Dutch on- and offline platform where esports, gaming and creative tech come together, and where Dutch esports talent is trained and prepared for a future in creative tech. Matthijs Vink, co-founder H20 Esports Campus: "We are extremely proud that we are going to bring this new concept to the market together with market leader Pathé. After our launch at the end of 2019, we were hit hard by the corona crisis, but in spite of that we still managed to achieve considerable growth. Now it is time for the next step.

Through the cooperation with Pathé we can expand our activities from top esports players to a broader target group of gamers and introduce them to the H20 Esports Campus. Our goal is to create an environment where the right guidance and expertise is available so gamers can meet each other in an educational and responsible manner. If more professional esports players eventually roll out of that, that would be great."

Members can sign up for various modules including Rocket League, Minecraft, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, game streaming and many more via our own H20 page on Fangage. By using Fangage we can deliver exclusive content to the members who have signed up for a module. For example, the FIFA players get the latest tricks explained in a video by the FIFA trainers from the H20 Esports Campus.

H20 has been working closely with the Fangage team for some time now. We provide feedback during the creation of the platform and the enthusiastic Fangage team takes every opportunity to improve their product.

According to Matthijs Vink of H20 Esports Campus Amsterdam, the cooperation with Fangage provides many new opportunities in the field of targeted content and customer contact. "Also, there is now a great place to share all the exclusive content, there is so much content available and Fangage helps H20 Esports Campus a lot to make that happen. We look forward to a great partnership for our esports fans!"

Sam Feldt, the famous Dutch DJ and founder of Fangage, is excited about the collaboration with H20 Esports Campus. "With this exclusive partnership, Fangage is able to serve the booming esports market even better. Together with H20 we will work on the ultimate platform for fan engagement & monetization in the esports world, reaching a huge amount of teams, players and tournaments through the extensive network of both of us."

This is how the second TOP weekend looked like!

The H20 Esports Campus Amsterdam was the location of the second TOP weekend on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 May. In the Talent Development Programme (TOP) we train nine talents to become professional esports players.

Saturday 1 May

Saturday 1 May, it was time again for the second TOP weekend in which we trained nine talents to become professional esports players! All the talents had brought lots of extra stuff with them because they had to stay overnight.
Before we started, of course, everyone had to undergo a little quick test and fortunately everyone tested negative. Then it was time for the real thing! The day started with a Wim Hof workshop. The method of the same name was of course invented by the Dutch Ice Man, Wim Hof.

In this workshop, the talents had to do exercises in which they learned how to push their own limits. It was a lesson in not giving up, but continuing no matter how badly you want to stop. Finally, the talents' willpower was put to the test when they each had to sit in an ice bath for two minutes!

After a nice hot shower, the talents had to go straight to Senaptec where, just like the first TOP weekend, their reaction skills were tested in the Esports Vision Lab. This happened with a number of 'reaction games'. After the talents were physically and mentally exhausted, it was time for a hearty lunch. Good nutrition is of course very important for top talents.
After lunch it was time for a presentation by an esports legend. Former professional esports player Sander 'Vo0' Kaasjager took the talents into the world of a professional esporter. The former Quake champion talked about his experiences, travelling and how it really feels to be an esporter. Our nine talents were very impressed by the presentation.

Afterwards, the talents enjoyed a delicious portion of home-made pasta. After dinner, they had to work on their own goals. The professional ex-soccer player Dirk Marcellis from the Talent Academy took care of this workshop. At the end of the day, the talents could of course play free games and then go to bed early.

Sunday 2 May

On the morning of Sunday 2 May, the participants were lovingly woken up at 6.45 a.m. by a cheerful tune played on a boom box, with the volume turned up nice and loud. This sweet, gentle approach helped a lot, because 15 minutes later our talents were already ready to work out.

This sports session was given by Michel van Halderen of fitness centre Wellness Profi Centre on the grounds of the H20 Esports Campus. The session consisted of a combination of condition and strength training. Despite getting up early and the surprise of a sports session the talents did great! Therefore they deserved of course a good breakfast. During the breakfast they also discussed what they had learned in the past weeks.
After breakfast, it was time for a presentation by Damn Good Nutrition about how important nutrition really is for a professional. Our talents should of course pay attention to what kind of nutrition they take, what kind of nutrition is best for them and how healthy is what they consume. Of course, our talents were very hungry after the presentation, so it was time for a nice lunch.

After lunch, Dirk Marcellis gave a fun but educational chaos training that looked at how the talents would deal with changes in situations. They had to work together in this game in order to win.

The last activity of the TOP weekend was ´Gaming under resistance´ in which the talents had to play an official game in their respective video games but with a big twist. In their own video games they are of course very focused, but do they stay focused when people try to distract them?
The talents were bombarded with loud noises from all sides while gaming, bright lights were nearby and a shoutcaster was chatting in the background so it seemed as if they were in a full esports stage. The top players had trouble concentrating in the beginning, but eventually it went a lot better. After the chaos training, they reflected on how they had experienced it. With this, the second TOP-weekend was also successfully concluded!

H20 supports the establishment of an esports branch organisation in the Netherlands

Dutch esports organisations set up initiative to form branch organisation for esports in The Netherlands. H20 Esports Campus shares the ambition to make The Netherlands a forerunner in the development of gaming and esports.
The initiative to make The Netherlands the forerunner in the field of esports comes from a group of Dutch esports organizations. Our own co-founder Matthijs Vink is one of the first initiators. The goal of the initiative is to bring together a wide range of parties to work together on the objectives and form of the sector organisation. All parties involved share the ambition to be among the 10 best esports countries in the world and to have The Netherlands leading the way in the development of gaming & physical activity in society. H20 fully believes in the development of esports in The Netherlands and the importance of the right balance between gaming and exercise.
The International Olympic Committee presented a set of recommendations last month in which they call on the Olympic world to 'encourage the development of virtual sport and become more involved in video gaming communities'. Gerald Dielessen, General Director of NOC*NSF supports the initiative for the central point of contact for esports in the Netherlands. "NOC*NSF and the sports federations welcome the current steps taken within the esports industry. In particular, setting up a branch organisation will accelerate rapprochement with the sports sector, allowing us to work on the further development of esports in The Netherlands."

Online conference

The parties involved will organise a kick-off conference on Tuesday 18 May from 13:00 to jointly establish a founding process and gather input from the various parties. The goal is to establish a clear branch organisation in the months thereafter, which will be recognised by the NOC*NSF.
Are you an organisation and do you want to join?
On the website you can top10esportsland.nl announce your involvement and support by signing the initiative.
