SOUND EXTRAORDINARY

With a history of innovation that began in 1925, we have turned a passion for making great
microphones and audio electronics into an obsession.

SM7B: AN AUDIO ICON FOR GOOD REASON

The SM7B hasn't changed much over the years: The SM7 sounded extraordinary back in
1973, and the SM7B still sounds amazing today. What has changed is the SM7B has gone from being locked in music studios as a tool for sound engineers and made its way into our homes. From radio to podcasters and now the mic has spread to an entirely new community on Twitch and YouTube. Without question, part of that success is due to the SM7B's unmistakable style!

Most Twitch and YouTube content isn't being recorded in a studio - it's being made in bedrooms
basements and anywhere else you can imagine, spaces with little or no acoustic treatment.
These conditions would be disastrous for a sensitive condenser mic, picking up unwanted
sounds. But not the SM7B, laser focused on your voice alone. When you watch someone
play Fortnite online, you don't want to hear the tapping of the keys or any other background noise. The SM7B helps your voice stand out from the noise.

MV7: THE SO CALLED "LITTLE BROTHER/SISTER/MINI-ME" OF THE SM7B?

In 2020, Shure launched the MV7, inspired by the legendary sound and form factor of the SM7B.

On a mission to make broadcast quality sound more accessible, Shure designed the MV7 to bring all the tonal quality of SM7B into an accessible, plug and play product.

There are plenty of reasons to go for either mic, but we feel these microphones complement rather than compete against each other.

With MV7, good sound is no longer reserved for professionals. Unlike the SM7B, the MV7 has two outputs: a standard XLR mic plug plus a convenient USB connection allowing you to plug it straight into your computer without an extra audio interface.
